48" Continuous Center Rod

No more driving to total depth then realizing the stop-pin inadvertently came out prior to getting to desired depth! No more driving to total depth then realizing the stop pin will not break loose! No more driving to total depth then having an extension rod coupler break! No more driving to total depth, pulling up the sampler then realizing that you did not get any sample recovery! Here is how it works: The desired Soil Sampler is fitted with a new ESP Center Rod that extends through and flush with the top of the Drive Head (see photo). Then for every Probe Rod that is added, an equal length Center Rod is also added. As you are advancing your tooling, the Center Rods are butted up inside against the Drive Cap holding the Piston Point seated closed within the cutting shoe. When you have reached your sample interval, you simply do not add a Center Rod and drive your sample the desired length. As you drive the sample, the soil entering the Soil Sampler pushes the Center Rods up. Sample recovery can be verified immediately by determining how much the Center Rods have raised. The Center Rods are precisely cut to length and are made of a special hardened Alloy Steel that resists bending and deforming. These Center Rods are available in all probe rod lengths. Center rods are also available in all sizes and lengths for the soil samplers you are currently using.
